The Mighty One

From The Message: The King Part 2

The king of any nation is the most powerful ruler in the land, holding all authority and ability to do his will. In the 21st century we see “Jesus Is King” on shirts, albums, and bracelets all the like, but do we really recognize the omnipotent, all powerful, nature of Jesus?

Throughout the Bible we see many kings get prideful and think that the hold more power than the King of Glory- the God of Israel. Over and over again the Lord shows who his truly on the throne by cutting those kingdoms down to the ground. One example is King Nebuchadnezzar challenging the three Hebrew boys by saying "What god will be able to deliver you from my hands?", only to end up embarassed when their God delivered them from the furnace.

If our God truly is as powerful as He says and shows He is, then why do we not live with the same faith that the Hebrew boys had? Why do we not look at the furnaces of life in the face and say “my God will deliver me”? The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and discipline. To fear the storms of is to place a bet that God isn’t who He says that He is.

Jesus said that we will face trouble in this world but to take heart as He has overcome the world. God is calling us to put our trust in His omnipotence and walk in power knowing that He is your deliverer from all situations.

God is still all-powerful no matter what your situation looks like

• You can smile right where you’re at because He hold the future in His hands

• To fear the future is to place a bet that God isn’t who He says that He is
